DESIGN, LOOK, UNIVERSE, PROCESSES

FROM THE IDEA TO THE FINAL PIECE

The pieces we produce represent our universe. A universe that orbits around fashion, collage, and surf. We design timeless and limited pieces of jewelry. Each piece shows the creation of a new setting for our mosquitas. Sensitive, timeless, sophisticated, amphibious, and creative women. Our love for the sea defines most of our creative universe and our commitment to preserving ecosystems.

All our limited edition pieces are made in Spain. They are listed one by one to become part of your timeless jewelry collection. All the gems we work with are traceable. We only work with suppliers who guarantee the origin of the gem and its extraction ethically. This is how the sustainability of the pieces becomes the most committed way to enjoy jewelry.

The creative process begins with the look. In the honest look, in keeping your eyes open. In conceptualizing an idea and turning it, later, into a wearable limited piece. Each piece is designed with the utmost care and demand in all its creative processes. The manufacture of our pieces combines careful craftsmanship, local and manual work with the latest technologies, which are applied in different phases until the final jewel is reached.

DIGITAL TRIDIMENSIONAL PROCESS

From the final hand-drawn drawings of each part, the digital design team performs 3D modeling with the help of specialized computer programs. It is at this stage where we define the last details and technical finishes of the piece.

MOLDING

To materialize the piece, we start by printing each part of the jewel with high-precision 3D printers, where we use wax as the base material. Later we make the negative of this impression with silicone, giving rise to the mother mold of the design. We fill the silicone mold with wax to replicate the piece and repeat this step as many times as how many pieces we are going to manufacture. We fill the mold with molten 925 sterling silver and let it dry.

CARVING

When the silver has solidified, we carefully remove the mold. Next, we clean and carry out, by hand, the first polishing of each piece, obtaining solid silver bodies: a jewel has been born, and it is a unique moment.

POLISHING AND PLATING

With the raw silver pieces already prepared, we begin the polishing process, which is divided into three phases: In the first stage, we generally use wet slate stones to remove large imperfections on the surface. In the second phase, we polish the possible scratches produced by the slate with linen and cotton wheels. To finish the polishing phase, we carry out the final polishing with a wet brush. We finely immerse the piece in an 18k (and 2-micron) gold bath that we then let dry.
